In Orleans County, arrest warrants are initiated through the court system. Before a judge issues an arrest warrant, he must first determine that probable cause exists. The judge bases his decision on sworn testimony, affidavits, or complaints to determine if it is likely that the alleged suspect committed the crime. If so, the judge will issue the arrest warrant and transfer it to local law enforcement for execution.

Unfortunately, there are no reliable online sites to conduct a warrant search for Orleans County. The only way to determine if an active warrant exists is to contact the court that issued the arrest warrant or contact the Sheriff’s Office to check for outstanding warrants.

In Orleans County, both the Supreme Court and the County Court can issue arrest warrants. To begin your warrant search, visit the Clerk of Court’s office at 1 South Main Street, Suite 3, Albion, NY 14411. The office is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
